ALL WEEK: FREE FAIRTRADE CHOCOLATE and ENVIRO GOODIES on the Envrionment and Ethics Stall. Lots of literature and activites!

Competition running all week: Bring in something you have re-used in an imaginative or interesting way and at the end of the week the winner will get a prize!

Monday: Smoothie Making Bike - FREE Smoothies

Tuesday: Wrap, City council, Uni Green Group and EandE stall with free friut!

Wednesday: Wrap, Uni Green Group and EandE Stall

Thursday: Farmers Market, Uni stall with freebies, Uni Green Group, Wrap, Portswood Cycles, Greenpeace, Environment Centre and EandE Stall

 Friday: Veggie Power? EandE Stall and World Naked Bike Riders!

Southampton City Fairtrade Group organised Fairtrade Market in the City.

RAG Community Festival Day (Wednesday 11th February)
Archbishop Desmond Tutu came to the Union to give a speech. The Day was full of events.
Environment and Ethics organised the concourse outside SU. Stalls included a Farmers Market, Fairtrade produce and EandEstall. There was fair-trade Ubuntu cola blind taste testing. Also produced an interactive quiz for students to complete to win a bar of divine fairtrade chocolate (to tie in with Valentines day).

 

Valley Gardens:

I sit on the Valley Gardens committee and recently organised and gathered a group of students to do volunteer work in the Gardens on Sun 1st Feb and Sun 8th Feb. SU Conservation Volunteers have done many tasks in the Gardens already. More conservation opportunities coming soon!

 

Christmas Farmers Market:
Normal Famers Market with a Christmas theme. Sold mince pies and the Stags sold mulled wine. Green Action also had a stall to raise awareness about the International Day of Action against Climate change (6th Saturday December 2008). Members of their group and other students travelled to London and protested.

Saturday 25th October: Fair-trade Cotton Conference at Solent Univeristy.

Friday 10th October: World Wild Life Talk by Ranger. Copy of Slides used during presentation can be found on Downloads page. (Pictures are copyright so please do not take and use out of this presentation.)

Thurday 2nd October: Environment and Ethics Day during Freshers Week.
