Competition running all week: Bring in something you have re-used in an imaginative or interesting way and at the end of the week the winner will get a prize!

Tuesday: Wrap, City council, Uni Green Group and EandE stall with free friut!
Wednesday: Wrap, Uni Green Group and EandE Stall

Southampton City Fairtrade Group organised Fairtrade Market in the City.

Archbishop Desmond Tutu came to the Union to give a speech. The Day was full of events.
Environment and Ethics organised the concourse outside SU. Stalls included a Farmers Market, Fairtrade produce and EandEstall. There was fair-trade Ubuntu cola blind taste testing. Also produced an interactive quiz for students to complete to win a bar of divine fairtrade chocolate (to tie in with Valentines day).
Valley Gardens:
I sit on the Valley Gardens committee and recently organised and gathered a group of students to do volunteer work in the Gardens on Sun 1st Feb and Sun 8th Feb. SU Conservation Volunteers have done many tasks in the Gardens already. More conservation opportunities coming soon!Christmas Farmers Market:
Normal Famers Market with a Christmas theme. Sold mince pies and the Stags sold mulled wine. Green Action also had a stall to raise awareness about the International Day of Action against Climate change (6th Saturday December 2008). Members of their group and other students travelled to London and protested.
People and Planet Conference: 21st-23rd November. More information go to: peopleandplanet.org/sharedplanet
Saturday 25th October: Fair-trade Cotton Conference at Solent Univeristy.
